The Therapy Stage home

Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to read this website and get in touch, whatever device, browser or assistive technology you use.

Our commitment

Reaching out for counselling can already feel like a big step, and a website should never make it harder. The Therapy Stage is committed to keeping this site clear, calm and easy to use for as many people as possible, including people with visual, hearing, motor or cognitive difficulties.

We aim to meet level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2.

How accessible this website is

This is how the site has been built to help:

  • All text is dark teal on a cream background, a combination with strong contrast, and body text is never smaller than 16 pixels.
  • You can move around every page using only a keyboard, and the item you are on is always clearly outlined. A “Skip to content” link is available at the top of each page.
  • Links, buttons and form fields are large enough to tap comfortably on a phone or tablet.
  • Pages use proper headings and landmarks, so screen readers can announce and jump between sections.
  • Decorative flower artwork is hidden from screen readers, and never sits behind or over text.
  • Every field in the enquiry form has a visible label, and any problems are explained in words, not by colour alone.
  • Movement on the site is minimal, and it is switched off if your device is set to reduce motion.
  • The pages can be read without JavaScript. The enquiry form needs it, and if it is switched off a message shows another way to get in touch.

The enquiry form includes a security check, provided by Cloudflare, that confirms you are a person rather than an automated program. If you cannot complete it, the page will show you another way to get in touch.

Tell us about a problem

If you find something on this website hard to use, or you would like information in a different format, please let us know. Use the enquiry form on the Contact page. Messages are monitored Monday–Friday, 9am–3pm.

Please tell us the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and the device or assistive technology you were using if you can. We will do our best to put it right.
